Trip to the Fire Station

For den meeting last week, I took my cub scouts to the fire station.
It was so cool!
The boys had lots of question and got answers to every one.
Firefighter Danny showed us around the fire station and trucks.
They have a lot of stuff in those trucks!
One favorite pieces of equipment was the Halligan. The boys were impressed with the claw, pick, and wedge that can be used to bust open doors and windows.
All the boys got a turn at the fire hose.
Turning it on, doing a wide spay,
then a narrow spray, and turning it off again. They loved it!
We got to see firefighter Danny in full gear. The boys checked for any exposed skin - making sure he would be safe fighting a fire.
The station we went to was a volunteer station. We are grateful for the time they took to show us around and tell us about all their gear and equipment.
A big shout out to all firefighters, police officers, and other emergency personnel who keep us safe and who are there to help us when we need them!
