Yes, the kids have been back in school a week, and I've finally gotten around to blogging about our last day of Spring Break.
The plans for our last day started on the Monday of spring break with a trip to the library to get the Zoo Atlanta DVD. If you find it (long story about the logistics of getting the DVD) and check it out, when you check it back in you get 4 free passes (2 adults, 2 children) to the zoo!!
Alyssa is "adult" age, so it was perfect and we only had to pay for Logan (Robert was out of town at a meeting).

The kids loved the elephants.
It was one of our favorite places at the zoo.
We got there about an hour after the zoo opened,
and just at the beginning of nap time for most of the animals.
We were hoping for a bit more activity, but it was still fun to see the animals
and walk around.
They are very proud of their Giant Panda exhibit. It was really cool.
There is a baby panda at the zoo, who was talking a nap,
but its mom was busy getting a snack while her baby slept.
We were just in time to see the turtles getting fed. There was a mad dash when the food came out. The one on the left won, since the other one had its back turned and didn't see the food until he turned around.
Mushrooms were the favorite.
We walked around all the animal exhibits before heading for the children's area.
They had a petting zoo,
carousel,
(Logan is ok with the bench on the carousel),
a train ride,
and a playground.
When we had spent as much time at the zoo as we wanted, we headed over to Stone Mountain on the way home.I had planned and packed enough food for lunch and dinner, depending on how the day went.
When we got there, there was a sign about the laser show that night - it was Friday. The boys wanted to stay, but it wasn't for another 6 hours! I told them we'd see.
We walked around,
and climbed to the top of Stone Mountain.
Natalie and Jake loved looking off the edge.
We hiked back down and I went to the car to get the food for dinner - we still had 3 hours to go until the laser show.
But, we had chairs and food and books and games.
The kids danced,
and spun each other around,
and played
until it started to get dark.
A game of "ninja" as we waited the final moments for the laser show to begin.
We sat right up front. It was loud, but so cool to be right there next to the face of the rock.
A long but fun day.
