After a fun week at the museum and Stone Mountain, we spent a few days at the beach to end our spring break week. We waited for Robert to finish teaching his class on Thursday and headed right out.
Friday we had the whole day on the beach!
We borrowed a canopy from a friend, and it made things even better.
The water was still a bit cold, but the beach was great.
Logan's initial leg burying,
became a creation into . . .
a merman!
He had a lot of fun with it and was buried standing up, so he needed a lot of help getting out!

The digging began and Jake made a nice little lounge for himself.
We tried the pool for a while, but the water was FREEZING! I jumped in with the kids and you couldn't ever get warm or use to it. When Robert came the boys tried to convince him to jump in, Jake even jumped in to prove it wasn't "cold," but Logan wouldn't do it and the look on Jake's face didn't convince Robert to take a plunge.
Warming up under a towel was the best idea.
After lunch it was back out to the beach.
Logan was thrilled to use the boogie board he won in the Capri Sun contest last summer.
The picture below is the day it arrived last July.

They've used it in a pool, but this was the first time at a beach!
The waves picked up a bit and they had a great time.
The condo was right next to the lighthouse, which was beautiful at night and in the morning.
Saturday, the kids wanted to wake up early to look for shells on the beach.
After breakfast and packing up, we went to climb the lighthouse.
Logan was a bit nervous climbing all those steps and was glad to make it to the top.
The girls and I where here a few years ago, scroll down at this post, they've gotten a bit taller.
The girls and I made it to the lighthouse before, but never had time to visit the war museum across the street. This time we got to go there too. Below is Natalie with a carnival car from a carnival that use to be on the island.
We made a quick stop in Savannah at the "Salt Table" store. It has all these different flavored salts and sugars and syrups, etc. Robert was in heaven and had to leave before buying every salt in the store! He got his jar of Ghost Pepper and some great looking herb mixes for dips.
The kids kept thanking me for going - even days later.
With continually busy schedules, it was just what we needed.
