All-State Performance

Alyssa's all-state performance was over this past weekend.
After a long afternoon & evening, full day, and long morning of rehearsals, she performed Saturday afternoon.
She was in a choir of over 200 middle school students from all over Georgia. This song is, "Minoi, Minoi". The speaker in the beginning is giving the words in English.

Alyssa is on the left, second row down from the top and four in from the end of the row - not that you can really see her in the video and her head is right on the crossbar of the large mic set up in the picture, but that's the best we got. :) Maybe this means I should get a better camera, if only for this one shot. :)
This is their performance of "Kyrie Eleison."

They performed seven songs in all.
The last one they did was "America." They dedicated it to all those now serving or who have served in the armed forces.
There was also another middle school choir and several high school choirs (men, women, and mixed).
She loved being in a mixed chorus with male voices - there are no boys in her grade's chorus at school (and only 3 in 6th grade and 2 in 8th grade). This is Alyssa with her middle school chorus teacher, Ms. Scott.
It was a great experience for Alyssa. And it was wonderful being there with her.

Sounds like it was a great time. So glad you got to make a mini-vacation out of it. It was fun hearing about it in class today!
