Sunday we got a delivery - baby silkie chickens!
A friend of Robert's brought them over from eggs that hatched just a few days before. Natalie will be taking care of them and all the kids love them and play with them. They have already become attached to Natalie, and Jake and Logan love playing in the garage to be near them.Right now they are in a box in the garage while the coop is being built. Then, when they get a bit older, they'll move out to the woods in the back yard - out of Izzy's collar range (being a bird dog genetically, we haven't even let her sniff them).
The kids discussed names all the way home from church (a good 25 minute drive). They finally decided on Puff (the whitish-yellow one, on the right) and Cotton Candy (the grayish one on the left).

How fun! they are so cute! It looks like you guys have had a lot of fun this summer. It sure looks like you live in a beautiful part of the world!
