We've Been Busy

We've been . . .
Having fun:
What else can you do when you have gorgeous days and the dogwoods in bloom!
And Grandma and Grandpa Beckstead visiting - playing games,
(nice cards - there isn't any meanness or cheating going on in the Beckstead household when it comes to UNO, right?)
and walking around a ghost town that use to be a paper mill.
Natalie has become our new chef (when sweets are concerned) making shakes and cookies whenever she gets a chance. She does share which makes it doubly nice.
And more fun with Grandma!Robert's parents came out for a few days before and after their week at the beach.
It was so fun having them here!
Throw soccer into the mix of our schedule and you can't beat a busy and fun spring.
We've also been . . .
Working hard:
The last Saturday in April was designated as the second annual Day of Service by our Governor. As a church in the area we collected food for the Food Bank. Our family, with the help of a neighbor friend, passed out fliers around our neighborhood about the project. The next week passed out reminders and then a couple of days later drove around and picked up the food donated by our neighbors - over 300 pounds worth! Our neighborhood is awesome.
Along with the Day of Service we had a ward picnic - rain brought us indoors but we still had a great time,
and the kids loved playing games.
Ok, so that was also fun.
But we did put a path through our back yard - that was hard work.
First the digging. Then having 3 tons of rock delivered - that was fun to watch. And climbing on the rock pile was also fun.But then there was the shoveling. And the filling. But we got it done before it rained and I love working outside. We still have a little to add near the house (we need to transplant some grass first), but we're mostly there and we love it. It also looks really cool glowing in the moonlight.

Your rocks look great! And I love the picture of the dogwoods, it made me smile. We had a dogwood tree in my front yard growing up - so pretty!

I am so jealous of your beautiful weather. It's gotten better here, but still chilly. And soon enough it's just going to get hot!!! Georgia just looks beautiful!

That does look busy (but fun).
UNO is a favorite game in our family too!
