We only had Natalie in rec soccer this season and I must say it was nice to focus on one child's practices and games.
Natalie became good friends with all the girls on her team, as she does every season, and it was fun being on the same team as her friend from church.
(Natalie is in the top row on the left next to the coach)
Natalie played all different positions on the field, even goalie once (thank goodness only once, she doesn't like the ball coming flying at her face).
She has a good leg to boot the ball down field when she plays defence
and can be quick and aggressive when playing forward.
Her team went 3-4-1 (W-T-L) for the season.
She scored during 3 games, one of them being the only goal of the game to beat a team who they tied before but a team who, other than that tie, had been undefeated.
Yesterday they had their tournament game.
They played well but unfortunately lost (1-2) when the other team scoring a last minute goal. So, it ended up being the last game since the tournament is single elimination.
Natalie had a bad fall close to the end of the game which took us to the after-hours clinic on the way home.
No break, thank goodness, but a very painful soft tissue injury that will take a while to heal.
This was a breather of a soccer season for us. Come fall Logan will start playing soccer, along with Natalie, Jake wants to try baseball, and Alyssa wants to do cross country in high school.
I'm glad I'll have the summer to prepare for that, it make me tired just thinking about it.
