Two signs of summer that we look forward to are the magnolias blooming and swimming in the river.
Our magnolias are looking beautiful.
You walk out onto the back deck (which they surround) and smell their wonderful fragrance.
We constantly check the river to see if it's low enough to go swimming. We are usually pushing it at the end of May, but this year we got our first swim last Friday!
We haven't had rain for weeks and it's been really warm - so the water was cool and refreshing.
We let Izzy come down with us too.
If we don't she just whimpers and yaps, knowing where we have gone (sometimes we can sneak away, but that usually doesn't happen).
She loves the water and we brought her ball down so she could fetch.

Alyssa didn't know I was filming (and I was keeping quiet so she wouldn't know, she didn't want me taking pictures of her) - it was quiet mean of her to hold on to the ball so long, Izzy was shaking with anticipation.
Izzy fetches until she is worn out and that happens faster when it's in the river.

We are looking forward to lazy summer days and many more days of playing in the river.
