Memorial Park & Lunch with Dad

Wednesday is playgroup day. This past Wednesday, with school out for the summer, all the kids got to come to Memorial Park. Logan was thrilled that Jake was coming.
We got there a little early and walked through the "zoo" area, actually a "wildlife trail" with a handful of local wildlife. They loved looking at the alligators and turtles.
From above and from the window to look in the water. The boys are a bit fuzzy in the picture below, but I thought it was a great shot with the head of the turtle right at Jake's eye and Jake looking at the turtle.
There are two deer. Yesterday we saw a deer just a few feet into our woods. It reminded Logan that he didn't like deer and he didn't want to go outside after seeing it so close. He liked the deer being close at the "zoo," it was behind a fence.
After walking through the wildlife trail we went to the playground area to meet up with our friends.
The climbing wall was the favorite.
The kids played on the swings and slides and fed the ducks, then we went to UGA to have lunch with Robert. We walked around campus a bit and Robert showed us where the UGA Creamery was (it's taken him three years to show us the creamery!). The kids enjoyed the yummy ice cream.
On the way back to the lab, Robert showed us the turtle pond. I don't know if that's what it's called, but for us that is now what it is.
We got back from our long day happy and tired. It was great to see our friends and spend some time with Robert in the middle of the day.
