Tubing Pictures!

Remember the post on our trip to Helen, GA?
I finally got the pictures back of us tubing the Chattahoochee!
I mentioned in the other post that we had gone tubing in July last year and the river was lower. There were also a lot of people on the river with us.
This year I wanted a higher river and less people. So, we went in June and early in the morning, getting to the tubing place a little after 9am.
We were the only ones on the bus!
And we had the river to ourselves!
(we did see two other people from the other tubing company in the area, but that was it)
Here we are, ready to go!
Natalie and Jake took off first. You can strap the tubes together if you want.
Alyssa and her friend, who came with us, took off next (since I was taking pictures).
Logan tubed with me.
He did have his own tube, but towards the end he flipped (in shallow water) and got scared, so he climbed on with me for a while until he was ok to go back to his own.
It was a beautiful day!
It's hard to see in the picture below, but there was still a spot where some of us got grounded and had to walk - mostly, when the water was more shallow the kids liked getting off and wading in the water.
Here is Logan on his own tube having a blast!
Alyssa and her friend went lazily down the river having a great time!
Here they are trying to steer towards some rougher water.
Half of the way down Jake was ready to go with Logan and me for a while, so Natalie switched him over.
It was harder going for me to have two tubes attached to mine (this was also when Logan flipped and was with me in my tube for a while).
Jake wanted to go solo at the very end where the BIG rapids were - well, not really that big, but the biggest along our stretch of river.
Natalie had fun with Jake and then enjoyed going solo.
We took the long run and were tubing for about 2 hours - last year Logan was done half way through, but this year he loved it the whole time. I love it when kids get older and they can last longer.
When we got back down, there were a whole lot of people there to tube the river - it is so worth it to me to go early to miss crowds.
We had a great time!
